| CII-Anemia test |

On behalf of CII, our college has arranged a mass health camp especially for girls. The event took place on 11-2-12 (Saturday) and the CII and its team came to our college by 9.00 am. They have planned to conduct Anemia test for girl students. The Program was inaugurated in the presence of MBA director Mr.Nagaraj, CII Coordinator Mr. Silvanus, MBA HoD Mr.Gnanaprakasam and the Event coordinators Mr.M.S.Senthil, AP/Civil and Ms.P.Subhashree, Lecturer/IT. For the Inauguration ceremony, Dr.Sallem, TSH, Pudukkottai and Dr.Syed Ibrahim,TSH, Pudukkottai were also present .CII coordinator Mr.Silvanus welcomed the gathering, followed by an introduction to the camp by MBA Director Mr.Nagaraj.
Dr.Sallem and Dr.Syed gave an inspiring awareness speech for girls. Then the screening process was inaugurated by Dr.Saleem and at the end Ms.P.Subhashree, Lect/IT, delivered the vote of thanks. The screening continued for the girls and around 430 girls were screened on the same day. |

| IIT Professors Visit |

With the view to improve the quality of academic process and research activities a mentoring scheme by IIT Professors is being implemented by Sudharsan Engineering College, Pudukkottai. Recently a team of three professors visited the campus for two days and conducted an academic audit.
The team members were Prof.Jagadeesh Kumar, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Prof.M.S.Mathews, Department of civil Engineering and Prof. B. Ramamoorthy, Department of Mechanical Engineering all from IIT, Madras. The team discussed with the host members on their teacher effectiveness. They examined the teacher`s traditional responses subsequently and made a presentation on four central issues of teaching: WHAT we teach, HOW we teach, How we GEAR UP as professors, and WHOM we teach.
The professors visited the laboratories and the common facilities and they expressed their satisfaction on the facilities available to the students and faculty. They advised to make use of equipment not only for mere academic purposes but also for Research works. They also gave valuable suggestions on improving the Lab environment to make it as a Research and Development centre
The professors delivered technical lectures to the students on Manufacturing Methodology, Bridge engineering and Research and Development in Electrical Engineering. They elicited their views on campus environment and the methodology of teaching by professors and counselled them on their needs to groom themselves as excellent professionals. |

A Bridge Course for first year students was started on 18th July 2011. Inaugural function was organized by S&H Department. Welcome address was given by Administrative Officer Mr. S. Rajagopalan. College Vice Chairman Mr. Ajay K. Sundaram gave Inaugural address and Principal Dr. M. Radhakrishnan gave presidential address. Expectations from parents were expressed to which the Principal gave positive assurances.
