The Southern Region Students Conference of ISTE was inaugurated by Prof.P.Livingston Peter Goldwyn, Principal, VLB Janakiammal Polytechnic College, Kovai Pudur, and Executive Council Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Prof.P.Livingston Peter Goldwyn said that students require convergence of skills. He emphasized on the need of convergence of technologies and the role of students in the progress of the country. He insisted that this is the correct age to formulate student`s ambition and also to fix a smart intermediate target. He told that the most important thing for a student is to involve in his studies. Prof.P.Livingston Peter Goldwyn also remarked that Sudharsan engineering college has really understood the concept of teaching the students by increasing their skills by conducting many activities.
The well attended conference was presided over by Shri.Ajay.K.Sundaram, Vice-Chairman, Sudharsan Educational Trust. Mr.P.Pram Kumar, President of ISTE Students Chapter of Sudharsan Engineering College welcomed the gathering. Inaugural Address was given by Dr.S.Palani Dean/P.G. Studies, Sudharsan Engineering College. Mr.S.Rajagopalan, Administrative officer, Sudharsan Engineering College felicitated the gathering. Prof.R.Boopathi Rani, Secretary of ISTE Staff Chapter of Sudharsan Engineering College presented the ISTE activities report of College.
The conference had 3 parallel sessions for Paper Presentation, Cyber-gaming and Quiz competition. Students from 20 colleges participated in these events. Winners of these contests were presented with cash awards and certificates by Dr.R.Samson Ravindran, Principal, Mahendra Engineering College, Coimbatore and ISTE Executive Council Member in the valedictory session. Dr.M.Radhakrishnan, Principal, Sudharsan Engineering College felicitated the gathering.
Conference Souvenir was released by Shri.Ajay K.Sundaram, Vice Chairman, Sudharsan Educational Trust and the first copy was received by Prof.P.Livingston peter Goldwyn.
The student office bearers Mr.P.Pram Kumar, Mr.A.Rajamanikandan, Mr.K.Raja durai, Ms.J.Sowmya under the guidance of Prof.R.Boopathi Rani, Secretary of ISTE Staff Chapter of Sudharsan Engineering College had made excellent arrangements for the smooth proceeding of the conference.
An entertainment programme in the evening by the fine arts club of Sudharsan Engineering College enthralled the audience and gave a fitting finale to the grand conference.
The conference concluded with vote of thanks by Mr.A.Rajamanikandan, Vice President, ISTE Students Chapter of Sudharsan Engineering College.

ISTE student chapter of SEC organized a Southern Region Student Conference on 3rd Sep `10 in the college campus. The theme of the conference was Innovation is the Key. The conference programme included Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation and Quiz competitions. Around 120 students from 16 colleges from TamilNadu & Pandichery participated. The conference was graced by ISTE luminaries like Dr. N.R. Shetty, Dr. M.S. Palanisamy, Prof. Sourirajan, Prof. Chinnarajan, Prof. Parameswaran &Prof. Srinivasan.

ISTE Students Chapter of our college organized a guest lecture on `How to succeed?` by Dr. R. Arunmozhiyan, Head, Horticultural Research Station, Yercaud on 24.07.10 between 2.00p.m. and 4.00p.m. at old seminar hall. Dr. M.Radhakrishnan, Principal, presided over this function.
