As a part of the decennial year celebration, Tamil Mandram of Sudharsan Enginnering College organized a Special Speaker meeting on 8th Feb 2011. Shri V.K. Sundaram, Chairman presided over the function. The famous speaker, Cine Actor and Media fame Kalaimamani Dr. K. Gnanasambandhan, delivered a special speech on `Ilakkiya Inbam`.

In commemoration of the decennial year, Tamil Mandram of SEC conducted various competitions namely essay, versification and oratory as an Inter collegiate meet. Dr M. Radhakrishnan, Principal, presided over the function. Eminent Scholars Shri. Muthu Srinivasan, Shri. RU. Raman, Shri S. Rajagopalan were the Judges for the various competitions and offered felicitation. One hundred and fifty students from 40 colleges participated in this function.
Ms. M. Ishawarya from Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science, Trichy, Ms. M. Suganya from Shanmuganathan Engineering College, Pudukkottai, Ms. S. Viji from Alagappa Arts College, Karaikudi won the first prize in oratorical, essay writing and versification competitions respectively. Mr. V.K. Sundaram, Chairman distributed the certificate, trophy and cash awards to all the winners.

Tamil Scholar and great orator Thiru Aadudurai Alagu.Panneerselvam delivered a wonderful lecture on Perunthalaivarin Perumaihal and distributed prizes to students who won in the competition on Speech and Essay writing. The highlight of the inaugural function of Tamil Manram on 15th July, 2009, was the spell-binding speech of the chief guest, Ms. Saraswathi Ramanathan, a noted academician and a Tamil scholar. Speaking on the subject Vazha Ninaippom, Vazhuvom, she asked the students to remember first five letters in the Tamilooyirezhthu and exhorted them to be kind, polite, enthusiastic, affectionate and hardworking.
