Introduction

As per the guidelines of NAAC, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established at Sudharsan Engineering College in the year 2019 as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. Recognizing that quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC has become an integral part of the institution's framework, dedicated to the realization of quality enhancement and sustenance goals. The IQAC ensures the effective implementation of quality initiatives through regular reviews, evaluations, and internal audits. By formulating and promoting strategic approaches for improvement, the IQAC plays a pivotal role in channelizing institutional efforts towards achieving holistic academic excellence

Objectives of the IQAC

To develop a structured system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action aimed at improving the academic and administrative performance of the institution.

  • To promote measures for institutional functioning that enhance quality through the internalization of a quality culture and the institutionalization of best practices.
  • To evolve mechanisms and procedures for ensuring the timely, efficient, and progressive performance of academic, administrative, and financial tasks.
  • To ensure the relevance and quality of academic and research programmes by promoting innovation, periodic review, and effective implementation strategies.
Functions of the IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell):
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  • Facilitating a learner-centric environment that supports quality education and encourages faculty development for adopting innovative knowledge and technology in participatory teaching and learning processes.
  • Collection and analysis of feedback from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters in higher education.
  • Organization of workshops and seminars on quality-related themes and the promotion of quality circles within the institution.
  • Documentation of programmes and activities that contribute to quality improvement.
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including the adoption and sharing of best practices.
  • Development and maintenance of an institutional database through the Faculty Information System (FIS) to support quality enhancement efforts.
  • Periodic conduct of academic and administrative audits to assess and improve institutional performance.
  • Development of a quality culture across all levels of the institution.
  • Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per the guidelines and parameters set by NAAC.
