Student Admission Policy & Procedure

The Student Admission Policy and Procedure governs the application and admission of students into various programmes offered by the college. This policy is designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for all applicants, while addressing the educational needs of a diverse student population.

  • The college provides unbiased academic guidance, supporting students throughout their admission and academic journey.
  • Students are entitled to appeal any changes made to their application or admission status through the appropriate channels.
  • The college reserves the right to cancel any programme in accordance with its institutional policies, rules, and regulations.
Admission Process:

Admissions are carried out as per the norms of the Government of Tamil Nadu:

  • 65% of seats are filled through Single Window Counselling conducted by the State Government.
  • 35% of seats are filled through the Consortium of Self-Financing Professional Colleges, Tamil Nadu.

A pass in the H.Sc., (Academic: both +1 and +2) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage as given below with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with a minimum average percentage put together as given below

AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme

AICTE TFW scheme is provided by the Management of the Institution. Sons and daughters of parents whose annual income is less than Rs.6.0 lakhs from all sources shall only be eligible under this scheme.

Post Matric Scholarship

Government has ordered to grant Post Matric Scholarship to SC/SCA/ST candidates and SC/SCA converted Christians, whose parental annual income is less than Rs.2,50,000/- from all the sources shall only be eligible. The eligible candidates have to submit an income certificate obtained from appropriate authorities and get the Post Matric Scholarship

Govt. School Students Scholarship - 7.5 Percentages by Tamilnadu Government

The 7.5 percent seats on preferential basis for Government School students who have studied from Sixth to Twelfth standard in state Government Schools as prescribed under the Act will apply to all categories of reservation including the "General Category".(G.O.(Ms) No. 167, Higher Education (J2) Department. Dated: 31.08.2021)

Tuition Fee Concession

Full Fees Waived for Those Admitted Under 7.5% Reservation For Government School Students.

As per the GO 221 Higher Education (J2) Dated: 15.11.2021, The State government will absorb the expenses for education in professional courses of students admitted under the 7.5% reservation for government school students. The fees for counseling, tuition and hostel would be paid by the government itself. They have to submit the proof for Government School study details from Sixth Standard to Twelfth standard. B.E. Lateral Entry/Direct Second Year

Candidates seeking admission directly to the second year are required to have passed the Diploma Examination in Engineering / Technology conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Tamil Nadu or equivalent courses.

The eligible candidates should be admitted into lateral entry degree courses upto a maximum of 10% of the sanctioned intake of the previous year. First year lapsed seats can also be filled up by the management

Eligibility for B.Sc. Candidates

B.Sc. degree holders shall be eligible for admission to B.E. lateral entry degree course. A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility norms in recognized Bachelor degree in science of minimum 3 years duration with 10+2+3 pattern and studied with Mathematics. Candidates with a degree other than Bachelor of Science are not eligible.

ADMISSION FOR PG PROGRAMME

Duration of the Programme

M. E. /M. Tech 2 Academic years comprising of 4 semesters
MBA 2 Academic years comprising of 4 semesters

Master of Business Administration

Candidates with a pass in recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) shall be eligible for first year admission.

Master of Engineering

A pass in recognized bachelor degree in BE or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in the qualifying degree examinations

Admission Procedure Management Quota

  • Get to know the availability of seats, eligibility criterions and the admission procedure from the college or institute website
  • Application for admission clearly mentioning the program sought should be made in the prescribed form given by the Institute in person or online through the website of Institute.
  • Copies of the relevant certificates will have to be submitted to the office when called for the formal scrutinization of the application.
  • If they are in order, and if the college decides to give the candidate admission, challans will be given for paying the fee at the Cash counter
  • Once the counter foil of paid challans is returned and the original certificates are submitted the admission process will becompleted

Government quota:

  • Those students allotted seats in this college through the single window counselling will present the provisional allotment order with relevant certificates to the office.
  • The office will give the challans for paying the fees at the cash counter and once the counter foil of paid fees challan is returned to the office the admission process will be completed.

3.1 Withdrawal before Commencement of Classes
  • Full Refund: Students who withdraw their admission before the commencement of classes are eligible for a full refund of tuition fees, minus a nominal processing fee (typically ₹1,000 or 5-10% of the total fee, whichever is lower).
  • Refund Process :To initiate a refund, students must submit a written request for cancellation along with valid documents such as the admission offer letter and proof of fee payment.
3.2 Withdrawal After Commencement of Classes
  • Partial Refund for Early Withdrawal (within 15 days of class commencement): A partial refund will be provided after deducting a percentage of the tuition fees (typically 25-50%, depending on AICTE norms).
  • No Refund After the Specified Period(after 15-30 days): Once the stipulated withdrawal period has passed, no refund will be granted, except for refundable deposits (e.g., caution deposit).
AICTE Guidelines on Fee Refund (As per Latest Norms)
  • Before Commencement of Classes - Full refund (minus a nominal processing charge).
  • Within 15 Days of Class Commencement - 80% Refund.
  • Within 30 Days of Class Commencement - 50% Refund.
  • Beyond 30 Days of Class Commencement - No Refund.
3.3. Refund on Account of College’s Failure
  • If the college cancels the course or does not offer it for any reason, a full refundof all fees will be provided.

Non-Refundable Fees
