This Fee & Refund Policy governs the payment of fees for all students enrolled in the Sudharsan Engineering College. It outlines the procedures for fee payment, the types of fees, and the terms and conditions for fee refunds.

Fee Structure
  • Tuition Fees :Specifies the annual tuition fees for undergraduate (B.Tech/B.E.) and postgraduate (M.E./M.B.A)programs, including any increase from year to year.
  • Development Fees :Covers fees for infrastructure development and academic improvements.
  • Library Fees :Charges for library usage, including access to digital resources.
  • Examination Fees : Outlines fees related to semester exams, revaluation, and supplementary exams.
  • Hostel Fees :Details charges for hostel accommodation, food, and other amenities.
  • Other Fees :Includes fees for sports, lab facilities, cultural events, transport, and other extracurricular activities.
Payment of Fees
  • Due Dates :Specifies deadlines for the payment of annual/semester fees (e.g., before the start of the academic year or semester).
  • Mode of Payment :Lists accepted payment methods, including online bank transfer, credit/debit cards, and demand drafts.
  • Late Payment :Defines late fee penalties for delayed payments and the process for paying the penalty.

3.1 Withdrawal before Commencement of Classes
  • Full Refund: Students who withdraw their admission before the commencement of classes are eligible for a full refund of tuition fees, minus a nominal processing fee (typically ₹1,000 or 5-10% of the total fee, whichever is lower).
  • Refund Process :To initiate a refund, students must submit a written request for cancellation along with valid documents such as the admission offer letter and proof of fee payment.
3.2 Withdrawal After Commencement of Classes
  • Partial Refund for Early Withdrawal (within 15 days of class commencement): A partial refund will be provided after deducting a percentage of the tuition fees (typically 25-50%, depending on AICTE norms).
  • No Refund After the Specified Period(after 15-30 days): Once the stipulated withdrawal period has passed, no refund will be granted, except for refundable deposits (e.g., caution deposit).
AICTE Guidelines on Fee Refund (As per Latest Norms)
  • Before Commencement of Classes - Full refund (minus a nominal processing charge).
  • Within 15 Days of Class Commencement - 80% Refund.
  • Within 30 Days of Class Commencement - 50% Refund.
  • Beyond 30 Days of Class Commencement - No Refund.
3.3. Refund on Account of College’s Failure
  • If the college cancels the course or does not offer it for any reason, a full refundof all fees will be provided.

3.4. Refund Process and Timeline
  • The college will process fee refund requests within a specified period (within 15-30 working days).
  • Refunds will be made through the same mode of payment used by the student or through an alternative mode (e.g., bank transfer) as agreed upon.
Special Circumstances
  • In certain cases such as medical emergencies or other exceptional circumstances, the college management may review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
Non-Refundable Fees

Some fee may be non-refundable, such as:

  • Application Fee :Fee paid during the admission process.
  • Admission Processing Fee :Fee paid at the time of admission that are non-refundable in all cases.
  • Hostel Fees :In case of withdrawal after hostel check-in, a portion of the hostel fee may be non-refundable.
  • Library and Lab Fees : Once utilized, these are typically non-refundable.
Dispute Resolution
  • In case of any disputes regarding fees or refunds, students should first approach the Principal.
Miscellaneous
  • Fee Revisions :The fee structure may be revised periodically, but any increase will be communicated in advance.
  • Refund Adjustments :Refund amounts may be adjusted based on the outstanding dues or any other pending payments from the student.
  • Caution Deposit :Refundable subject to the return of all institutional properties (e.g., library books, lab equipment) and settling of any pending fees or dues.
